When I ran for office 2 years ago I pledged to help our students, public schools and teachers. Improving our children’s public education has been my most passionate priority and I followed through on that promise.
This past session I was able to pass a piece of comprehensive education reform along with the help of my Senate sponsor. It’s known as HB 577 and it was signed into law this April. HB 577 allows high school students to receive credit toward graduation by completing Department of Education approved, pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs that better prepare them for the workforce.
I also supported increased funding for our public schools and raising teacher pay. I supported a new law to bolster school safety and pushed for increases in programs that help make college more affordable.
Furthermore, I am honored to have the endorsement of Palm Beach County school board member, Erica Whitfield, the Florida Education Association, the Palm Beach County Classroom Teachers Association and the Palm Beach Post.
I will continue to serve the people of District 87 and fight for education reform in Tallahassee. Please give me your support and your vote so I can keep working for you.
Please vote David Silvers for State House District 87 at one of the early voting locations listed here or on Tuesday, August 28th so I can keep working for our children’s future.
